About

Welcome to Lowendguide.com

There are many good and stable providers of small virtual private servers where you only need to pay a few dollars a month to get full root access. Many of them will be limited on CPU, memory, diskspace and/or bandwidth. That’s one of the reasons why I created this site, to gather information and guides on how to run services on low end dedicated servers/virtual private servers as efficient as possible.

The guides on this site will help you with detailed step-by-step instructions on software installations, configuration and optimization. With a little effort, you can run your own DNS-cluster, high-available webserver, failover database servers, your own mailserver. Only your imagination is the limit of what you can do. One thing that your VPS will never be able to do is to make you a sandwich or take care of you when you are sick.

My goal is to write easy and understandable guides/tutorials that covers both Linux-related software and Windows. Hopefully this site will provide guidance to Linux/Windows VPS administrators in a wide range of topics.
All guides are accessible by looking through the categories found on the left side on every page.
